I Get An Error Message When Submitting a File

If you are receiving an error message when you attempt to submit your assignment, try these troubleshooting techniques.

Error messages that you might receive when trying to submit a file include:

  • Error Message | Unable to process at this time; please try again later
  • Error Message | There was an error with the internet connection
  • Error Message | Invalid Hyperlink

The first two error messages listed can follow the same troubleshooting methods.

General Error Message Troubleshooting

To troubleshoot this error, follow the steps below. 

  1. Wait 10-15 minutes and try submitting your file again 
  2. Check the file size
    1. If the file is >2MB, check if you can reduce the file size
      1. How to check your file size
    2. After reducing the size of the file, attempt submitting again
  3. If time allows, wait and attempt to submit your file tomorrow morning
  4. If you still cannot submit your file, submit a support ticket and attach the file you are trying to submit

💡If the error mentions an invalid internet connection, it is most likely because the file size is too large. 

Invalid Hyperlink Error Message

  1. Open the file you are attempting to submit 
  2. Locate all of the cells with a hyperlink.

  3. Check the hyperlinks to ensure that they are valid/working
  4. When you identify the error, correct it, save the file and attempt to submit it again 

💡This error is most common because there is an error in an email address within the file

The Workbook You Submitted Does Not Contain The Worksheet [Sheet Name] Error Message

If you receive the following error message:

Go back and double-check that none of the worksheet names are changed from the original empty file. Spaces, punctuation, and capitalization all matters for worksheet tab names. 

⚠️ This error is most often seen in people who create a blank worksheet and copy the tabs over. Always work from the empty file you downloaded from the ExPrep Platform.
